About Me
I am a licensed Clinical and Consulting Psychologist practicing in the Rockridge district of Oakland, California. I am licensed by the California Board of Psychology and have more than 30 years of experience in the field. My therapeutic and consulting approach is collaborative, relational, and multifaceted, integrating the depth of psychodynamic thinking with practical, systems-oriented perspectives.
I began my academic training at the University of California, Santa Cruz, where I majored in both Women's Studies and Psychology and graduated with honors. I went on to earn my MA and PhD in Clinical Psychology from the Wright Institute in Berkeley. My theoretical grounding is in psychoanalytic and psychodynamic psychology, with an emphasis on contemporary relational models informed by feminist and intersectional frameworks.
Early in my career, I conducted extensive work and research related to Women's Issues, Addictions, and Eating Disorders/Body Image. I provided consultation to the Tang Center at UC Berkeley, the Mills College Counseling Center, and several public and private schools throughout the Bay Area. Over the years, I have worked with hundreds of adults, adolescents, couples, and families, and I continue to offer consultation to parents of adolescents and adult children navigating complex developmental or relational challenges.
Outside of my professional life, I enjoy writing, cooking, hiking, long beach walks, and time spent in the mountains or by the ocean. Having lived most of my life along the California coast, I am still happily discovering the hidden gems of the Bay Area.
